What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, SDKs, device identifiers and server-side logs that can help a website remember preferences, maintain a secure session, understand whether a service is working as intended or measure interactions.
Cookies can be session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain for a defined period or until you delete them. First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting; third-party cookies are set by another provider whose technology is embedded or enabled on the site.
Where this notice applies
This notice applies to the public Enfinity website and describes the general approach for Enfinity cloud applications. A customer-configured application, integration or embedded third-party service may present additional technologies. In those cases, the relevant application setting, integration notice, customer policy or third-party notice may apply in addition to this notice.
The public website and product environments serve different purposes. We therefore distinguish between essential technologies needed to deliver, secure and administer a requested service, and optional technologies used for analytics, personalization or advertising.
Cookies we use
As of the Last updated date, the public Enfinity website is designed to operate without advertising cookies or cross-site behavioral advertising technology. Essential cookies or similar technologies may be used where necessary for core functions, security, language preferences, load distribution, form protection or session continuity.
If we introduce optional analytics, experience-measurement, personalization or marketing technologies, we will update this notice and provide an appropriate choice mechanism before those optional technologies are enabled, where required. We will not silently repurpose essential technologies for unrelated advertising.
- Strictly necessary — used for requested functions, security, fraud prevention, load balancing and reliable delivery. These cannot usually be disabled through a website preference centre because the service may not work without them.
- Functional — may remember a language, region, display preference or accessibility setting. Where optional, these will be offered with the appropriate controls.
- Analytics — may help us understand aggregate service performance, page usefulness and technical errors. These are not currently used as non-essential public website cookies; if introduced, we will explain the provider, purpose and choices.
- Advertising and social media — not used on the public Enfinity website for cross-site behavioral advertising. If this changes, this notice and the relevant controls will be updated first.
Cookie inventory and retention
We aim to keep a current inventory of material technologies used on our public website. Because essential technologies can vary with security, hosting and service operations, their names and lifetimes may change as infrastructure evolves. We limit cookie duration to what is appropriate for the function and regularly review whether a technology remains necessary.
Where we add an optional technology, the notice or preference control will identify the category, provider where relevant, purpose and retention period or the criteria used to determine it. Customer administrators may need to keep a separate record of technologies enabled inside their organization’s Enfinity tenant.
Managing your choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting cookies, clearing site storage and choosing private-browsing modes. Browsers differ, so consult your browser’s help material for current instructions. Blocking essential cookies may affect parts of the website or application, including secure areas, language preferences or form submissions.
Where Enfinity provides a separate cookie preference setting, that setting applies to the scope described in that setting. Browser controls, application controls and customer organization policies can all affect the result. If you clear browser storage, your preferences may need to be set again.
Do not track and global privacy controls
Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not interpreted consistently across the internet. We will honour applicable consent and privacy requirements through the controls made available on the relevant website or service. If a legally recognized global privacy control applies to the technologies we use, we will assess and implement the required response.
Third parties
Some links, embedded content, integrations or customer-selected services may use their own cookies or similar technologies. Those providers are responsible for their own notices and controls. Customer administrators should assess integrations, data flows and technology settings before enabling them for their organization, especially where employee, payroll or customer data may be involved.
Following a link to a third-party site may allow that third party to collect information under its own policies. Enfinity does not control those technologies and recommends reviewing the third party’s privacy and cookie notices before interacting with its content.
