FINANCE & CONTROL

Close your books with confidence, not a spreadsheet marathon

Enfinity Accounting gives every sub-ledger — sales, purchase, inventory, payroll, projects — one shared posting path into a single general ledger, so your trial balance always tells the truth. Statements, budgets and GCC VAT sit in the same workspace as the ledger itself.

Growing GCC businesses hit the same wall: sales, purchasing and payroll each keep their own numbers, someone reconciles them by hand at month-end, and the trial balance never quite agrees until a late night of adjusting entries. Post-dated cheques live in a notebook, VAT rates get typed in from memory, and a corrected entry means editing history rather than leaving a trail. Accounting fixes the wall at its source: one posting path, one ledger, one place to close.

How it works
  1. Set up the ledger

Build a chart of accounts with account groups and dimensions from day one, or import an existing chart, opening balances and bank accounts at go-live.

  2. Post from every source

Manual journals, expense journals and every sub-ledger post through one central GL posting service, so nothing writes to the ledger through a side door.

  3. Review before posting

A balanced-journal guard blocks an unbalanced draft, an optional approval reviews the posting before it lands, and a posted entry is only ever corrected by a traceable reversal.

  4. Match and settle

Settlement matching ties receipts and payments back to the invoices they clear, and post-dated cheques move through a register with maturity alerts and ageing.

  5. Report and explain

Financial statements, custom layouts and budget-versus-actual variance come straight off the posted ledger, with AI adding a plain-language explanation on top of numbers it did not compute.

  6. Close the period

A fiscal period locks once its checklist is worked through, and year-end close runs the same discipline across the full year.

Capabilities

Chart of accounts & account groups

A maintained account master organised into account groups gives a growing business a usable ledger from the start instead of one built up by trial and error. Accounts, groups and their hierarchy stay editable as the business grows more complex.

Manual journals with post approval

Journal entries carry a balanced-journal guard and a separate post step, so a draft can be checked before it reaches the ledger. An optional approval step adds a second set of eyes, and any correction to a posted entry runs through an audited unpost or reversal, never a silent edit.

Journal register & central GL posting

A journal register lists every posted movement by journal type, and one central GL posting service is the single write path every sub-ledger — sales, purchase, inventory, fixed assets, projects, payroll — posts through, so the trial balance can never drift from the sub-ledgers.

Fiscal periods & year-end close

Open and close fiscal periods on your own schedule, and run year-end through a closing checklist worked through item by item before the year locks — so nothing gets missed in the rush to close.

Expense journals, cost centres & dimensions

Record costs that never pass through a supplier bill as their own expense journals, and tag any posting with cost centres and financial dimensions so reporting can cut below the chart of accounts without bloating it.

Settlement matching & interest accrual

Settlement matching ties receipts and payments back to the specific invoices they clear, keeping receivables and payables genuinely reconciled. Where a business charges interest on overdue balances, accrual runs automatically against the ageing.

Financial statements & statements designer

Profit and loss, balance sheet and trial balance generate directly from the posted ledger. Account schedules let you design a custom statement layout so the published statement matches how the business reads its own numbers, not a generic template.

Budgets, variance & statement export

Set financial budgets and track budget-versus-actual variance as the year plays out, then export any statement in the format your auditor or board expects.

GL posting projections

Projection tables keep sub-ledger balances and the general ledger reconcilable as volume grows, so a receivables query agrees with the ledger balance without a nightly reconciliation batch.

AI. You decide.

AI-assisted GL coding suggestion

Looking at your own business's posted supplier and journal history for the same supplier and description, the assistant suggests an account, tax code and dimension for each uncoded line, and it draws no tax precedent for a historical line that carried none.

The suggestion is computed deterministically from your own posted history; the AI model only adds the explanation, the feature still works with no AI provider configured, every suggestion is logged to an advisory ledger with an audit event, and the accounting clerk accepts or overrides each line before anything posts.

AI-assisted month-end close readiness

The assistant looks at receivable and payable ageing buckets, maturing post-dated cheques and open VAT exceptions, and produces a readiness assessment listing what is still outstanding before the month can close.

The readiness assessment is built from figures already computed in your ledger; the model only explains what remains open, it works with no AI provider configured, it is logged to an advisory ledger with an audit event, and the controller decides whether the period actually closes.

AI-assisted variance explanation

Once budget-versus-actual variances are computed, the assistant re-flags the ones past a materiality threshold and explains them in plain language, so a controller reads a sentence instead of hunting through a spreadsheet of percentages.

The variance figures themselves are computed deterministically and the model never changes them; it only adds the explanation, it works with no AI provider configured, every explanation is logged to an advisory ledger with an audit event, and the controller decides what action, if any, follows.

AI-assisted anomaly detection

Posted transactions are screened for unusual amounts and patterns, and anything that stands out is flagged with a stated reason for a human reviewer to weigh — a duplicate-looking payment, an outlier journal amount, a pattern that breaks from history.

Flags are computed deterministically from posted data with the AI model only supplying the stated reason, the feature works with no AI provider configured, every flag is logged to an advisory ledger with an audit event, and a reviewer investigates and decides before any correction is made.

AI-assisted natural-language reporting

Ask a question in plain language against a dataset your own report builder has already resolved and access-checked, and the assistant answers only from the rows it was handed — it never reaches past what the caller already permitted.

The model sees only the rows already resolved and access-checked and produces the explanation on top of them, it works with no AI provider configured, each query is logged to an advisory ledger with an audit event, and the requesting user reviews the answer before relying on it.

AI-assisted dashboard & executive summaries

Already-computed KPIs on a dashboard get a short written summary in plain language, so an owner scanning the month gets a sentence of context alongside every tile rather than a bare number.

The KPI figures are computed deterministically before the model ever sees them; the model only writes the summary sentence, it works with no AI provider configured, every summary is logged to an advisory ledger with an audit event, and the owner or controller reads it as context, not as an instruction to act.

GCC VAT profiles, effective-dated

VAT profiles are seeded and effective-dated for Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Oman as active regimes, with Qatar and Kuwait carried as inactive, ready-to-configure rows — since Kuwait has no live VAT regime today. A historical document keeps resolving to the rate in force at the time, including Saudi Arabia's move from 5% to 15% and Bahrain's from 5% to 10%.

VAT returns, tax ledger & reconciliation

VAT returns prepare directly from the posted tax ledger, which records VAT, GST and withholding as first-class entries — including India's CGST, SGST and IGST split for intra- and inter-state supplies. Reverse-charge supplies report separately, and a tax-to-GL reconciliation proves the return agrees with the ledger.

Bilingual masters & post-dated cheques

Account, customer and document masters carry a second-language name, with right-to-left rendering from the platform shell. Post-dated cheques stay inside Accounting alongside the ledger they settle — a register with approval, maturity alerts, an ageing schedule and GL mapping — kept deliberately simple with no custody tracking, deposit batches or resubmission workflow.

AI-assisted VAT filing-deadline insight

A filing-deadline insight is computed deterministically from each VAT profile's own filing calendar, giving a controller advance notice of when a return is due without cross-checking a separate calendar by hand.

Works with
  • Enfinity HCM

Payroll journals from Enfinity HCM post as balanced entries straight into this ledger through the shared GL posting port, so payroll cost lands in the right accounts and cost centres without a manual re-entry.

  • Enfinity Retail

Enfinity Retail's daily sales summaries and tender settlement charges post through the same shared ledger port, so a day's till reconciles into Accounting without a separate export-import step.

  • Enfinity Property

Enfinity Property's rent-period closings post their own balanced journals into this ledger through the same port, keeping rental income reconciled with the general ledger period by period.

The Enfinity platform
  • The company dimension

Multi-legal-entity scoping keeps each company's chart of accounts and statements separate while still letting a group consolidate, without leaking one company's ledger into another's.

  • Workflow & approvals

The same approval-routing engine that drives journal post approval across the rest of the platform, so an accounting approval chain looks and behaves like every other approval in Enfinity.

  • The AI gateway

A metered, budgeted gateway with a zero-spend default powers every AI-assisted feature in this module, so GL coding suggestions and close-readiness insight never run up a surprise bill and degrade gracefully with no provider configured.

FAQ

Can we migrate our chart of accounts and history from QuickBooks or Tally?

Yes. Migration Center supports QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, TallyPrime/Tally.ERP 9, Zoho Books, Odoo, Dynamics 365 Business Central, Universal Excel/CSV, a generic SQL Server source and a generic REST API, with a dry run and reconciliation before you commit.

Which GCC countries does VAT support cover?

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Oman ship as active, effective-dated VAT regimes. Qatar and Kuwait are seeded as ready-to-configure — Kuwait currently has no live VAT regime, so its profile is a placeholder, not a claim of compliance.

Is the interface available in Arabic?

Yes. Account, customer and document names carry a native second-language field throughout the module, and the platform shell renders the whole interface right-to-left when Arabic is selected.

Is AI required to use Accounting?

No. Every AI feature here — GL coding suggestions, close readiness, variance explanations, anomaly flags — is an advisory layer on top of deterministic figures. With no AI provider configured, the module still runs; you simply don't see the plain-language explanation.

How do post-dated cheques work — is there deposit-batch tracking?

Post-dated cheques get a register with approval, maturity alerts, an ageing schedule and GL mapping — deliberately kept as a simple register and status tracker, with no custody tracking, deposit batching or resubmission workflow layered on top.

How does this module connect to Sales and Purchase?

Sales and purchase transactions post their journals through the same central GL posting service that every other sub-ledger uses, so an invoice or a bill lands in the trial balance the moment it posts — no separate sync step, no reconciliation gap.

Can we design our own financial statement layout?

Yes. Account schedules let you define rows, columns and groupings for a custom statement layout, so what you publish matches how your own business actually reads its numbers rather than a fixed template.

What does the Small edition include compared with Standard and Professional?

Small covers the core ledger, journals and VAT return preparation. Standard and Professional add the statements designer, budget-versus-actual reporting, post-dated cheque management and the AI-assisted advisories on top of the same ledger.
